PMPC Star Awards 2011 (TV) List of Winners

PMPC Star Awards 2011: ABS-CBN wins big
The 25th Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) Star Awards for TV was successfully held Tuesday evening at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Resorts World Manila. The event was hosted by Kapamilya hunk Piolo Pascual and beauty queen Shamcey Supsup.

ABS-CBN emerged as this year's big winner as it bagged 26 trophies, including "Best TV Station", for the third consecutive time. GMA-7, meanwhile, had 15 awards while TV 5 received six. Studio 23, UNTV 37, and NET 25 got three, two and one, respectively.

The PMPC also gave special recognition to Nora Aunor, German “Kuya Germs” Moreno, Jessica Soho and Susan Roces.

The event will have its telecast on ABS-CBN on Sunday, November 27, 2011.

Synopsis

Park Shi-yeon marries

As previously announced, actress Park Shi-yeon (Coffee House, Story of a Man) married her fiancé, identified only as Mr. Park, on November 19 at Seoul’s Grand Hyatt Hotel.

Given that the groom is a non-celebrity, the affair was closed to the press, with just a select few photos from the ceremony now released to the media, as you can see here. Gah, I love how Park Shi-yeon always looks in a wedding dress, no matter the style. And she’s been in a number of them, surprisingly; a few for her roles, and a few in fashion spreads. If Jeon Ji-hyun is the perfect jeans model, then Park Shi-yeon is basically your ideal bridal model.

The event was a who’s who of the entertainment industry, emceed by announcer Oh Sang-jin and featuring a special song by Park Shi-yeon’s close friend, singers Park Hyo-shin and Lee Juck.

Other guests included: Hyori, Park Shi-hoo, Han Ye-seul, Nam Gyuri, Kim Min-jung, Oh Yeon-soo, Jo Yeo-jung, Cha Ye-ryun, Kang Sung-yeon, and Park Hee-soon.

The couple plans to honeymoon in the U.S. after Park completes filming on a movie.

EPISODE 35 WEECAP

At school, Teacher Ji-sun overhears a curious exchange between Julien and Ha-sun when the latter returns an item he left in her room. Another red flag goes up when she runs into Ha-sun that evening near a neighborhood cobbler, with Julien’s shoes in hand. Flustered, Ha-sun lies that they’re her father’s and slips away.

But the pieces don’t quite match up in Ji-sun’s head: Ha-sun’s father was fairly short, Julien mentioned he needed his shoes fixed, and they talked about being careful not to get caught… Eureka! Something is definitely strange between the two. She warns Ha-sun, “Laugh while you can…” and vows to solve the puzzle between Ha-sun and Julien.

Nature calls for Jin-hee and before she can do her business, she gets interrupted by Kye-sang who wishes her well for the upcoming clinic intern test, hoping she doesn’t cheat this time, with a smile.

Jin-hee’s first day at the clinic starts off great, but takes a downward turn after she accidentally breaks one of Kye-sang’s treasured antiques. Being the good-natured person he is, he brushes off the incident, making sure Jin-hee is warmly welcomed to the clinic.

The rest of the day isn’t any better as she mixes up the lunch order, pouring jjam-pong (a seafood noodle soup) over the tang-soo-yook (deep-fried beef/pork). The nurses gripe at her about being so careless, but Kye-sang happily digs in, calling it ‘surf-and-turf’.

Jong-seok pulls his sister outside after he finds her begging for change in the classroom. He berates her, upset to see his sister stoop so low. But Soo-jung whines that she needs the spending cash and wonders if she should get a part-time job. He’s not convinced – who would hire such a brat?

At Chez Park/Baek/Kim/Kang, it’s a peaceful morning, eating breakfast in leisure, and Ha-sun gleefully shares that she has a coupon at a seafood buffet restaurant. But those plans quickly turn sour after Ha-sun argues with Ji-won over a previous accident on her scooter, confiscating her keys. Ji-won claims that it’s not dangerous and snaps at Jin-hee when she takes Ha-sun’s side. No seafood buffet after all.

There’s been a lot 90210 casting news over the last couple weeks, but old favorites will still be around when the show returns in September. Teddy will be back from time to time ; Naomi keeps fit even though she is pregnant?; Annie with a mystery man?.

Coldplay Live in Manila 2012 - coldplay asian tour 2012

According to a 2-week old post on a Malaysian website Digiartworkstudio, the award-winning British alternative rock band Coldplay will be holding a 2-month long Asia Tour in 2012 which will kickoff in Kuala Lumpur and will have Bangkok, Thailand; Jakarta, Indonesia; Tokyo, Japan and Manila, Philippines as stops. Coldplay Live in Manila 2012 Concert?
"A british superband Coldplay is scheduled to open their Asia Tour 2012 in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. A 2 months long tour will continue in Bangkok, Jakarta, Manila and Tokyo (sic)." the short post, dated October 19, 2011, reads.

There are no official announcements yet regarding the said Coldplay Asia Tour 2012 nor the Coldplay Live in Manila 2012 from the major concert producers in the country. But if the said concert tour will push through, expect that this page will be updated with ticket prices, venue and other info about the Manila concert.

Composed by Chris Martin (lead vocalist), Jonny Buckland (lead guitarist), Guy Berryman (bassist) and Will Champion (drummer), Coldplay rose to fame after the release of their first hit single "Yellow" in 2000. They have recorded at least 5 studio albums with "Mylo Xyloto" as the most recent. The band has also won numerous awards including 6 Brit Awards, 4 MTV Video Music Awards, and 7 Grammy Awards.

MAGANDANG GABI BAYAN HALLOWEEN SPECIAL FOR 2011

First, I would like to thank everyone for making my first entry such a success!!! It was more than I expected.... I don't have much words to say, but really I'm overwhelmed by positive feedback... and that makes me think of some wacky and exciting things to put on this blog since we can't deny the fact that some of you are expecting a quality blog!!! Hahahaha... But seriously, that was greatly appreciated. Cheers!!!

And now let's talk about something that will bring you back to memory lane...

For someone like me who loves watching horror movies with disturbing scenes and twists, no one can stop me to keep asking for more... But before addiction to horror movies took place, I was a fan of the MGB Halloween Special... What's MGB anyway? MGB stands for "Magandang Gabi Bayan", a news magazine show and public service program of ABS-CBN hosted originally by Noli "Kabayan" De Castro that started airing in the late 80's and aired it's last episode in 2005 with new sets of hosts Katherine De Castro, Henry Omaga Diaz and Erwin Tulfo (anchors who took over after Kabayan's decision to join politics in 2001). Anyway, the said show, as far as I know, became one of the most watched shows in the Philippines when they aired their first HALLOWEEN SPECIAL. It gained such an outstanding viewership that the team decided to do that kind of episode once a year.

The team behind this really worked hard for its production. And as a result, they never failed to have an entertaining tv special with flawless special effects. Or at least, as flawless as the special effects went back then. Aside from that, it's totally disturbing everytime you try to fit into the shoes of the one who experienced the paranormal thing. I was such a big fan of it! I can still remember the times when my cousins and I were always looking forward to watching it with all lights off. Also expect that on the next school day, the halloween episode will undeniably be the talk of the town inside the campus. I can say that MGB Halloween specials gave good memories, not to mention its influence that increased my interest in the horror genre... And now, for those folks asking if Kabayan is going to host an MGB Halloween-like special this year... Well, the long wait is over!!! MoliBLOG tweeted Kat De Castro (Kabayan's daughter) and she confirmed that a Halloween special will air this year and will be hosted by Noli De Castro... see our exchange of tweets below:

1 Night 2 Days Episode 224 English Subs - 1 Night 2 Days (Korean: 1박 2일), first aired on August 5, 2007, is a South Korean reality-variety show shown on the KBS2. 1 Night 2 Daysis one of the two segments (the other segment is The Qualities of a Man) for Happy Sunday. The show's members consists of Lee Su Geun,Eun Ji Won, Lee Seung Gi, Kim Jong Min, Uhm Tae-woong and their mascot, Sang Geun. Real wild road variety is the show's motto to recommend viewers the various places of interest in South Korea.

Because of the similar concepts in variety shows, 1 Night 2 Days has often been compared with SBS's Good Sunday's Family Outing 2 (a 1 night, 2 day trip) and MBC's Infinity Challenge (6 men competing in games). Filming is usually done 2 weeks prior to first official broadcasting. On August of 2011, the producers and the cast members had a meeting on the status of the show and they have come to an agreement to end 1 Night 2 Days due to Kang Ho Dong's fatigue and an offer to go to SBS as well as the other member's issues. On September 9, 2011, Kang Ho Dong left the show due to his tax evasion crime and retired from show business. The show will come to a conclusion in February of 2012.

(거침없이 하이킥; Geochimeopsi Haikik / Kŏch'imŏpsi Haik'ik, literal translation: "High Kick without Hesitation", "Unstoppable High Kick", or "Smooth High Kick") was a popular South Korean situation comedy revolving around the life of the Lee family, taking place inSeoul at the same time as the broadcast (Winter, 2006 - Summer, 2007). The title of the show "High Kick!" has several implications, one of which is the oft-depicted high kicks of Yoon-ho, one of the main characters. The show aired in South Korea from Monday to Friday in sitcom format. Due to its popularity, the show filmed more episodes than were initially planned.
